Overview

Welcome to the "Our World Our People" class. Our curriculum is designed to align with the Ghana Education Service (GES) requirements, offering students a comprehensive understanding of the world and its people. In this class, students will explore various aspects of geography, history, and social studies, enabling them to develop a deep appreciation and knowledge of different cultures, societies, and global issues. Our goal is to foster global citizenship, critical thinking, and cultural awareness among our students.

Through engaging lessons and interactive activities, students will learn about the diverse continents, countries, and regions around the world. They will study the physical features of different places, including landforms, climate, and ecosystems, while also exploring the human aspects such as population, culture, traditions, and languages. Moreover, the "Our World Our People" class will delve into the rich history of civilizations, providing students with a chronological understanding of major events, milestones, and influential figures. They will examine the political, social, and economic systems that have shaped societies throughout history and analyze the impact of these developments on the modern world.

Furthermore, this class will emphasize the importance of sustainable development and environmental stewardship. Students will explore global issues such as climate change, deforestation, and pollution while also studying solutions and initiatives aimed at preserving the planet for future generations. Students will enhance their critical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills through creative projects, group discussions, and research assignments. They will develop the ability to analyze information, construct arguments, and appreciate multiple perspectives, preparing them to become active global citizens.

Another crucial aspect covered in this class is the impact of social media on society. Students will analyze the influence of social media platforms, their advantages, and their potential risks. They will develop skills to navigate the digital world responsibly, including topics such as online safety, information verification, and digital citizenship. Lastly, we address technology misuse, focusing on issues like cyberbullying, online scams, and privacy concerns. Students will learn about the ethical use of technology and the responsible management of their digital footprint. They will be equipped with strategies to protect themselves and others from potential harm arising from technological misuse.

By the end of the "Our World Our People" class, students will have a broad understanding of our world's interconnected nature and its diverse cultures. They will be equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate an increasingly globalized society and contribute positively to our changing world's challenges and opportunities.
